For the Love of The Lake Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce Up / Dallas’ Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade – March 14th
This Saturday, March 14th, 2015, For the Love of the Lake (FTLOTL) will be holding its monthly second-Saturday shoreline spruce-up at White Rock Lake. Registration and free breakfast will take place from 8-9 AM at the For the Love of the Lake office at 1152 N Buckner Blvd, Dallas, TX 75218. It’s at the NE Corner of Garland Rd. & Buckner Blvd. in Casa Linda Plaza. (Office faces Buckner & the Doctors Hospital.) Clean-up work will last 2 hours, from approximately 9-11 AM. Drinking water and ALL necessary spruce-up supplies are provided! If you have your own kayak or canoe, you can join the clean-up on the water!
For the Love of the Lake is an organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of White Rock Lake as an urban oasis. FTLOTL has been holding second-Saturday spruce up events since April 1996 (that’s almost 19 years!) and has never missed a single month! To learn more, visit the website.
Also on Saturday the 14th, Dallas will be holding its annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Greenville Avenue. The parade starts promptly at 11 AM at the intersection of Greenville and Blackwell. The parade will end at the intersection of Greenville and Yale/SMU Blvd, around approximately 2 PM. Not to be missed – this is the largest St. Patrick’s parade in the Southwest! Both of the clean-up and the parade promise a great time and opportunities to be part of long-standing traditions in the local community. The Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade is in its 36th year, and the For the Love of the Lake Second Saturday Spruce Up is about to embark on its 19th!
