Oct. 31st – “Trees Please!” Reforestation Work Day at White Rock Lake
On Saturday, October 31st Dallas Parks and Recreation will hold its annual Trees Please! event at White Rock Lake. This is an opportunity for volunteers to come together and plant some 150 trees, native plants, and wildflowers along the hike and bike trail. This reforestation is much needed to keep up with the rate of aging and declining trees across the landscape.
For the Love of the Lake will be supporting this effort, but more help is needed! Volunteers must register through the Trees Please! link on this page no later than Oct. 17th! Registration is free, and a continental breakfast will be provided for all volunteers. Volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves and shovels where possible. Check-in is at 8:30 AM, and planting will be conducted from 9 AM to noon. For more information, please see the attached flyer below.
